Welcome!
2025 Prairie Wildfire Taekwondo Challenge
This is the 27th Annual event set for April 26th. Most event information will be the same as the last event in 2024.
Accommodation Difficulties:
There are 4 other events the same weekend and those other events have overbooked the hotels. We expect many rooms to come open during mid to late March. Keep checking with the Yorkton hotels for rooms that will be released. Our YTA parents are confident the Yorkton rooms will come free after the holding deadline date for the other events.

For those travelling through Saskatoon, we can also get rooms in Canora. Canora is the same distance from Saskatoon as Yorkton. Canora is about 35 minutes north of Yorkton.
For Winnipeg participants, either the Melville Sigma hotel (25 minutes), Roblin Hotel, or probably preferably the Russell Manitoba Inn that are 1 hour distance from Gallagher Centre.
Thank you for your participation at our 27th Annual event. I wish to extend a special thanks to all the volunteers and referees for a job well done.
The competitors travel from as far away as Edmonton, Alberta as well as participants from North Dakota. We once again will run a double elimination for the pattern and sparring competition. We use corner judge clickers for all coloured belt divisions and Daedo E-Strike PSS for black belts in all rings. Bring your own complete WT Style sparring gear in case your division is not Daedo PSS. This includes instep protectors.
The Best of Three round system will be in place.
This a very athlete centered event that give multiple opportunities for the participants to refocus and perform again. Developing referees are mentored in a positive environment. We are very proud of the design model of this event and believe it should be on your Taekwondo training circuit for Long Term development and Yearly Training Plans.
This year we have again included a Family Team Poomsae event. There will be a black belt competitive division, Both the Family Team and black belts will use the KPNP Poomsae scoring system. The recreational black belt and coloured belts will have a double elimination, head-to-head format.
See You in Yorkton!
Sincerely,
Master Mitchell
